What we do
Fire extinguishers for homes, shops, hotels and factories
- Homes and vehicles: a small dry powder (ABC) extinguisher for the house and the car, and CO2 near electrical equipment. Which type do I need?
- Shops, offices and restaurants: the right types for your equipment, mounted where staff can reach them.
- Hotels, guest houses and villas: equipment, servicing records and staff training ahead of the fire inspection and your yearly SLTDA licence renewal.
- Factories, workshops and schools: a site visit to plan types, sizes and positions, then regular servicing.
Running a guest house, boutique villa or hotel?
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) asks for a valid Certificate of Fire Protection when you register and at every yearly licence renewal. Tourist hotels, boutique hotels and boutique villas must also show that at least 75% of their staff are trained in first-aid firefighting. See what you need to have ready.

Common questions
Do you refill fire extinguishers?
Yes. Refilling is one of our core services. WhatsApp us a photo of the label, which shows the type and size, and we will tell you the price.
Which fire extinguisher do I need?
It depends on what could catch fire. Dry powder (ABC) covers most fires in homes, shops and vehicles. CO2 suits electrical equipment and leaves no residue. Cooking oil and fat need a wet chemical extinguisher, or a fire blanket for a small pan fire. Our guide to extinguisher types explains each one.
Can you give us a fire certificate?
No. Fire certificates are issued by the local authority fire service (or the UDA), not by suppliers. We help you get ready for the inspection: the right extinguishers in the right places, serviced, and staff who know how to use them.
How often should extinguishers be checked?
We know of no Sri Lankan law that sets this, so firms follow the manufacturer's instructions and international codes such as BS 5306-3 (UK) and NFPA 10 (US): look at each extinguisher once a month and have it serviced once a year. Refill any extinguisher straight after it has been used, even partly. Our maintenance schedule has the details.
Are you the fire brigade?
No. SafeZone Fire Company is a private company that supplies and services fire safety equipment. If a fire is spreading, get everyone out and call 110, Sri Lanka's emergency number for fire.
